The City Tunnel called "Citytunneln" in Swedish is a 17 kilometre rail link between the current terminal station Malmö Central and the Oresund Bridge in southern Sweden. The tunnel which length is about 6 kilometres is currently under construction.  The new railway will run underground trough the city centre. In April 2008 the tunnel boring machine TBM completed the excavation activity. It's projected to open the tunnel in December 2010. The project has two main goals: 1.    To reduce travel times between Malmö with a population in the urban area of 281’000 and the Danish capital Copenhagen with a population in the urban area of more than 1.2 million inhabitants. 2.    To increase the capacity on the Scanian network by changing Malmö Central station from a terminus to a transit station. The work is projected to cost SEK 9.45 billion, about $US 1.2 billion. The Bridge of the Horns The Bridge of the Horns, if it really gets built, will be one of the great engineering feats of this century. The  will link Yemen (Middle East) to the Island of Perim in the Red Sea and on to Djibouti (Africa) and "write a new chapter in the history of humanity". The Red Sea is one of the busiest and most important seaways in the world and the construction as well as the service of the bridge will have to allow this heavy transit. The bridge will also allow much greater speed of transit and more cargo and people to be transported from one point to another. It will be a 28.5 km (17.8 miles) long cable-stayed bridge. The suspension portion of the bridge will be the longest in the world. There will be six lanes of vehicle roadway and 4 rail lines, allowing 100'000 cars and 50'000 rail riders to cross the bridge every day.

Federation Island construction will start in the beginning of 2009 in Sochi, Russia. The project comes from the dutch Erick van Egeraart associated Architects (EEA). On the official website you can read: It will be a 350-hectare artificial island located off the coast of Sochi, Russia. Federation Island will house 25,000 people in apartments and villas. Federation Island is expected to be completed in time for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The project will cost around 6.2 billion dollars (4.4 billion euros).

Dubai developers Nakheel just announced they are going to build a one kilometre high (3,280 feet) tower, the Nakheel Tower, beating the city state's own world record (with the the yet to be completed Burj Dubai, which reached a height of 688 metres (2,257 feet) last month and is still growing). The tower will be built in a whole new town that will cover 270 hectares. It is estimated the entire project will cost $95bn, of which $38.12bn will be for the tower alone. Nakheel has already built about $60bn worth of projects in Dubai. Nakheel Tower will have four individual towers within a single structure, which is very rare.

The Moscow International Business Centre (MIBC or “Moscow City”) is an enormous multi-billion dollar project in the Presnenskaya Embankment area in the heart of Moscow’s Kremlin. The MIBC plan started in 1992 with the will to convert the old urban area of Presnenskaya, with its factories and industrial complexes, into a world class business complex. The project covers a square kilometer of land and incorporates all the elements for work and lifestyle.

The Al Raha Beach Development is another project in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.  It will allow 120'000 people to leave in the 11-kilometre water front of Al Raha Beach, which is set to become one of the greatest waterfront cities in the world. The project is very large (500 hectares) and will therefore be part of a rail, bus, fast ferry and water taxi network of Abu Dhabi. Several Canals will allow the waterway transport. With this incredible project, Abu Dhabi seeks to becom a "great Arabian water city". It will include residential and commercial buildings, as well as shopping streets and recreationnal spaces.
