The project of the Central Chinese Television CCTV headquarters in Beijing is currently under construction. It has an estimated construction cost of $600 million, and it should be completed in time for the Beijing Olympics this year. However, rumors annouce it will not be ready before summer 2009. The project is being executed by a combined Arup team from East Asia and Europe Divisions. Arup provides the engineering design services for the structure. It is a sub-consultant to the Office for Metroplitan Architecture (OMA) led by Rem Koolhaas, which was awarded the design contract at the end of 2002 after an international architectural design competition. The construction began in December 2004.

The $40 billion development project of Yas Island is under construction since 2007. It is located near Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The project comes from Aldar Properties, a real estate company from Abu Dhabi. It will include a retail development, luxurious hotels, a leisure complex and a motor racing circuit. As if Dubai was missing landmarks, it is planning to build... the tallest and largest arch bridge in the world. Dubai likes it bigger, taller, and more expensive than anyone else. It was just a matter of time before they decided to build this. The bridge will bet 670 feet tall and will have 12 lanes of traffic. This means it will be able to carry up to 2,000 vehicles per hour. It should be finished for 2012 and it will cost about $817 million.

A new tower project has been revealed Tuesday June 24 in New York. This high-tech tower that be built in Dubai and Moscow will allow the people living in it to modify the orientation of their apartments, in order to change the view. This will allow them to follow the sun or see the whole city while they're eating. The project has been designed by the Italian architect David Fisher. In Dubai, it will have 80 floors made out of prebuilt modules that will have the ability to rotate around a vertical axis. It should be ready for 2010. The skyscraper from Moscow will "only" have 70 floors, but will work with the same principle.
