Al Raha Beach, the world’s greatest waterfront

Al Raha Beach, the world’s greatest waterfront

The Al Raha Beach Development is another project in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.  It will allow 120′000 people to leave in the 11-kilometre water front of Al Raha Beach, which is set to become one of the greatest waterfront cities in the world.

The project is very large (500 hectares) and will therefore be part of a rail, bus, fast ferry and water taxi network of Abu Dhabi. Several Canals will allow the waterway transport.

With this incredible project, Abu Dhabi seeks to becom a “great Arabian water city”. It will include residential and commercial buildings, as well as shopping streets and recreationnal spaces.

There will be eleven precincts each with its own distinct “personality and appeal”. Home to 120,000 residents enjoying picturesque views across the water, Al Raha Beach stretches over 11 km of dynamic living

As the new gateway to Abu Dhabi, Al Raha Beach has been conceived by the finest specialist architects and contractors in the world, creating a community where transport, safety and quality of life will be integral to the design. Infrastructure has been designed to ease accessibility, combining several types of transport to smooth-out transit requirements, each interconnecting with the others at the transport hubs. Traffic and pedestrians will be able to move freely throughout the city, while commuting to downtown Abu Dhabi or Dubai is made easy. The Light Rail Transit (LRT) system will provide speedy mass transit throughout the development, along with the fast “jet cat” catamaran and ferries zooming between quaysides, making Al Raha Beach the ultimate waterfront city.

A good example of the skyscrapers that are getting built there is the Strata Tower.
